In most of the world, industries that produced as many “unprofitable failures” as the Hollywood studios do would be riven with repeated bankruptcies, like the airlines are. But the studios make money, it’s just that the individual movies don’t. Everybody makes money creating, promoting, showing, licensing…well except for people who take a share of “net profits.”
