People who are (putatively) unmarried/celibate/without family, as a precondition to their employment, feel no irony in their giving marriage, sex, family planning advice/diktat.
(Plus, the only reason he is celibate is because of those misbehaving circa-1400s pope/cardinals/priests-- they spoiled it for everyone! Yet, they make it sound like their celibacy was institutional from the very beginning.) There -will- be a Vatican III, and they -will- let in women/gays to the priesthood, bless same-sex marriage, allow priests to marry. It’s just gonna take another 100-200 years…
