I thought Pope Francis had named himself after this Francis Francis Xavier - Wikipedia

But on checking, realised I was mistaken and he had indeed said he chose Francis from Francis of Assisi

Literally names himself after the Dr. Dolittle of saints, regularly pictured with a bird on his hand, and then denigrates pets? Really? That’s just too much irony for one day.
