Here’s a wild idea. We can eliminate a lot of “unsafe camps” and trespassing issues if we gave a place for homeless people to live safely and cleanly.
We’d also save money as S.F. and Berkeley would no longer feel the need to confiscate shopping carts and dump personal belongings.
But no, we can’t let someone slide by getting something for nothing. How unfair it is for us to work hard and pay rent for a nice place, when someone else gets to not sleep in the rain for free.
