Who is going to spend the money for tracking solutions?
How often does a commercial jetliner vanish without a trace never to be seen again? Airlines above 10k feet are tracked continually by commercial radar. Then there is military radar. Then there are emergency locator beacons that trigger in a crash. Then the black boxes send a signal in a crash.
The need/cost ratio just doesn’t make sense for anyone right now.
That being said, eventually it will happen. Test airplanes and the spacecraft download real time telemetry so the tech is there, the airlines just need enough incentive to do it.
