In Kansas's poor, sick places, hospitals and debt collectors send the ailing to debtor's prison

Well, we used to teaching the humanities and history in college which is a great way to develop empathy for your fellow man, but sadly, they are no longer being seen as critical to producing a college educated person. Instead, we’re being told we need to push “useful skills” in our classes instead.

It can be. It’s hard, but it can be done.

When the prisons are for-profit it all works out as a grand scheme for wealth redistribution the wrong way around. Wealth dedistribution, if you will.
