First of all, I’m not defending the guy, I think it’s clear he’s using race as a dividing point, but I used the word “explicitly” because it’s not explicit, it’s veiled behind what he thinks is “catching her in a lie”, and which might actually play to some of his constituents who don’t know her family history.
I don’t deny this is racism, but I was really addressing those here who didn’t see an obvious slur, because it’s not obvious, he’s not calling her a rude word nor is he saying something about Asian culture, he’s implying she’s an outsider, which (again) was not very obvious to some people here.
