When asked what his favourite book is, Biff’s stock answer is All Quiet on the Western Front. This is one of the “tells” that supports the contention that he’s aliterate to the point that he’s effectively illiterate. The novel has long been a fixture on middle school reading lists (including military schools). I have no doubt that it was the last book he ever attempted to read, before bullying a classmate into churning out a book report for him.
