Back in the days of Usenet and BBSes, we would crack wise about the newbies and “endless t`summerseptember”.

We enjoyed the benefits of being in the long tail demographic, but now the endless summer has snuck up on us. Newbies have more social pull (for now) than seasoned longtimers.

That imbalance can only be temporary, but the damage in this case is permanent.
