What an unexpected turn for JP Sears. Early on I found his videos very entertaining and amusing. I perceived his efforts as being clever and insightful. Gradually the videos got longer and felt more labored, and without any conscious decision to do so I moved on to other entertainments. Sometime in 2021 I thought of him for the first time in a year or two and excitedly went looking for his newer material, thinking “I’ll bet he’s having a field day satirizing the Malarkey Syndicate and the Shithead Society. Seems right up his alley.”. Boy was I surprised to discover his marked adulation for the Gilded Turd and his wholehearted embrace of all things conspiratorial. He didn’t even seem like the same person, as his manner and comportment had changed, and worse still, he wasn’t funny any more. And now this is what it’s come to. Were I to speak with him face-to-face the question I would ask (earnestly) is “What happened ?”.
