You’re pretty much awake with this type of anesthesia, just very relaxed.
For your prep; DRINK THE GATORADE!! I know people who didn’t; they stuck to water and juice and were very, very shaky. Gatorade prevents that, and I didn’t find the prep to be to bad because of that.
After the procedure, I felt very nauseous (they blow air up there and it eventually makes its way northward and causes discomfort). My hairdresser, who has a family history of colon cancer, and has regular colonoscopies, recommends walking for a half an hour or so and allow yourself to fart freely.
