I wonder if we would have had the same ongoing conversation about the show if Mindy Kaling had made almost the exact same thing but as an homage to Scooby-Doo instead of as an extension to the property. So many poorly-received shows come and go without the commentary dragging on and on. I’d like to chalk this up to Scooby-Doo’s being so beloved, but it’s not like everything else his wet nose has touched has turned to gold.
