How to summarize… for some reason Rogan likes to have on Eric Weinstein, managing director of Thiel Capital, who I met a few times when we were both doing physicsy math in Boston in the early '90s. Weinstein and I were both at a lecture back then that went completely off the rails (the speaker had prepared a physics talk, with a hundred slides, and only realized a minute before starting that he was in the math colloquium). During the Q&A I reminded the speaker what the title of the talk had been – blah blah invariants of four-manifolds blah blah – and asked, “like a punk” in Weinstein’s recollection, if the speaker could say something about that topic. (At which point he introduced the “Seiberg-Witten equations”).
