Yes! I peronaly have a crush on the Russian space program. Partly because they did a lot with so little. Partly because they had some cool as shit first and ideas. And partly because the space museum had so many cool Russian artifacts. At the time it had more Russian stuff than anywhere else in the US other than the Smithsonian, IIRC.
