George Conway isn’t and has never been liberal. He’s just one of the few republicans who hasn’t pulled a Lindsay Graham (i.e. discard everything you’ve ever claimed to believe in to jump on the Trump bandwagon).
There’s still a few non-trump right wingers kicking around. Their impact has been overall pretty dismal, but maybe they still have some roll to play in walking the country back from the brink
