now it seems you’re trying to walk back your concession by conflating two separate ways of reacting. i would not react to her or anyone else speaking in a racist manner in public by bringing up trump, i would address the racist speech directly and on the basis that it is offensive and impolite. in our conversation here about what is driving the recent uptick in public racism, as opposed to the private racism i have described upthread, i do believe that the election of a trump has made the racists among us feel more empowered to say publicly what they thought privately than they did prior to the election. until you started walking it all back with the comment to which i am replying right now your comment above seemed to be conceding as much. that however, is a meta- discussion which i would not be having with someone being publicly racist.
