I think that’s part of the appeal, it’s like a kitschy parody/emulation of other things and places people like. Kinda like It’s A Small World but for adults, offer tourists something familiar but also a lot of glam wrapped around it. If i had to guess it’s a way to get people to drop their guard and buy into it all, i think for the most part it’s successful because walking through the strip and checking out all the weird interesting stuff that’s there is actually pretty fun (at least for me). I also love people watching so your mileage may vary
