Forgive me if I’m reading too much into this, but: A good indicator that BoingBoing is trying to appeal to the masses, rather than to its core audience of happy mutants, is how Wernher von Braun is referred to in the title as “legendary rocket scientist’” rather than just as “Wernher von Braun”. I’d bet that BoingBoing readers know who he was.
