I’d have to get one and really look at it, but: considering it’ll hold a smartphone, it shouldn’t be too difficult to put something like a Raspberry Pi Zero W in it after configuring it to stream internet radio stations that do retro or vintage playlists. Rig up some inputs to connect the tuning and volume dials to change stations and adjust volume, and that should do the job nicely. Might even be enough room for a handful of “D” cells like the vintage units used to use, too.
