I see them as agents of chaos. It is like Antifa, in that it is largely decentralized. So yes, more or less anyone can make a claim they are part of Anonymous. It certainly isn’t some Illuminati pulling the strings type org. It’s a, “Who do we want to fuck with today?” type org.
They have had some decent hacks and data leaks, and if they ever leak something that has real world consequences, then I think they will flip from “shenanigans” to “significant”.
