I live a couple of blocks from a park, and for the last few years I’ve occasionally heard a bagpipe player out there (my theory is that they need a place to practice without bothering housemates or neighbors–but maybe it’s just to spread joy!). This summer my building is covered in scaffolding and we can’t open the window or the balcony door, so we can’t really hear anything outside (besides train & boat horns)
