I guess I’m naive, but is it standard practice to pay someone for a news interview? IIRC there’s money involved (relatively little) for talk show interviews, but with news, I figure the network’s offer is “you can tell your story, or not.” & I’m aware of journalists paying their sources, but I’m talking about interviews, not scoops.
