My mates and I did a punky metal cover of this in our late teens, and it rocked!
My friend Ben in particular was a revelation with his death metal growl vocals that twisted the lyrics in to obscenities.
Wish I’d kept a copy.

As a theme song it seems pretty clear that the original was at the very least a rock song. Messing with the bits a little to turn it punk or metal or whatever isn’t too much of a stretch, but always a good go-to.
