The ren faire I used to work at ran in midsummer, and then August; the heat was sweltering. A crafty friend of mine made me a half-suit of armor (just the collar, breastplate, and arms) out of roofing aluminum, and while it looked terrific, I was worried I’d bake inside. Turned out that the aluminum reflected the heat, so I was actually cool and comfortable in my knightly armor.
