I remember reading somewhere that he could have bought his way out of the deal by paying something like a couple billion dollars in fines. Even us half-brained non-billionaires could see that was a far better deal than overpaying for the birb site.
I guess the one thing Musk couldn’t predict was how bad he was personally going to tank the site. He probably still doesn’t understand that he turned it into a Nazi bar, and that he singlehandedly caused thousands of advertisers and millions of people to flee.
Or maybe he does, and incorrectly figured that a Nazi bar would still be worth 80-90% of its original price. As it stands today, I don’t think he could sell it for 3% of what he paid for it.
