To be fair, I think that the objections to Equestria Girls were that it was produced by the actual company that runs MLP and they were scrubbing their own character’s unique personalities in favour of molding them all into a single model of ‘hip teen girls’ (example: all the girls wore foofy skirts, even vocally dress-hating Rainbow Dash and Applejack). The beefcake underwear-model spoof is very clearly a parody and not a canon product, so you can’t expect the same type of complaints.
