I have avoided The Sandman series since Neil Gaiman stole a former love of mine.
“Can’t see you tonight a new Sandman just came out.” [click]
“I have to go, I’m rereading all the previous Sandman’s.” Again the conversation ended with a click.
Etc…
While that former love had trouble with honesty, many years later the one thing that truly irritated me was that they kept The Sandman to themselves- never sharing a single word about it with me.
Many years later, I loose my spouse from time to time to a good book. That is to be expected. But we come back to each other and talk about what fictional world, character or real world artist we have fallen in love with.

If your love finds The Sandman I warn you, in the voice of Tim The Enchanter (or in the voice of any irate Cleeseian character), “you will loose your love!”
