I don’t think many people in the UK know much about Jewish culture or traditions because Judaism is just not very visible over here. To a British eye it looks like someone holding an oddly narrow bundle of foliage, but then I’m guessing most people not from round my way would think that putting toast dipped in cider in apple trees to be an odd thing to do.
