New owner of California's "Flintstones" house sued by city after adding dinosaurs

Yeah, regardless of what the landscaping was - because it’s ultimately the house they object to, but they can’t get rid of it. You can see the house clearly from the freeway, and I suspect what they’d be happy with is trees to hide the whole property and nothing else.

Basically, I think it offends the “city fathers” that this is the most famous bit of the town, which has been a landmark since the mid-'70s and everyone can clearly see when on the freeway.

Oh gods, I forgot about the horrible statue of that evil bastard. The two things the city is known for. The house is the better of the two, by far.

Well, the house does pre-date Star Wars. Though when they started calling it that, I don’t know.

What’s screwy in this situation, is no HOA is involved - it’s the town itself, suddenly deciding to enforce a rule about needing permits for statues (which is, needless to say, very unevenly applied ) and being upset that it doesn’t match “community standards.” They’re also claiming it’s a “public nuisance” which is an extremely wobbly argument.
