I have never had the option of not viewing the world through the eyes of a damaged individual, for one thing. And just listening to my own opinion is “transgressive.”
I was spoon fed bukowski in university as what good writing and thinking looked like and I resent it.
Charles bukowski’s art was never “transgressive” from what I can tell, instead it is the song of the status quo, the utimate in patriarchal self-indulgence.
It is damned refreshing to hear some one take the piss out of fucking bukowski. But to hear nick cave do it is glorious.
