Nixon put ketchup on cottage cheese

Somehow my only reaction to that was ‘god, he must have had awful old-man smell.’

Ok. I love ketchup and I love cottage cheese but those two things together? Eww.

Ketchup on cottage cheese is like the xenophobic man’s paneer.

FTA:
President Reagan kept a jar of jelly beans on his desk in the Oval Office and on Air Force One during his two terms, from 1980 to 1988. “You can tell a lot about a fella’s character by whether he picks out all of one color or just grabs a handful,” he said.
Is this some sort of liberal jab or am I reading too much into it?

At least it would taste less of cottage cheese, I guess.

My grandpa did that, too. Ketchup on cottage cheese. I’m glad I ate few meals with him.

Is anyone surprised by this? We are talking about Nixon, after all.

Was he Amish or Mennonite or Moravian by any chance? In my curiosity on the topic, I found a number of references to “schmierkase” and cottage cheese

Good question, but no, he was German, and a man of questionable food tastes.
