The only time I’ve ever heard peanut used as a nickname for someone is an adult addressing a small, naive child, maybe 3 - 5 years old.
I remember it from black and white TV shows and Disney-esque movies.
Given Sorbo was born in 1958, if this is why she is calling him Peanut, I’m sure it isn’t lost on him.
