Which no one here has said otherwise… but sometimes, it’s necessary to take a child on a plane. You can’t take the time to drive for whatever reaons. It’s not fun for anyone, but that doesn’t justify abuse of said child just so others aren’t “inconvenienced”. 
FFS, children are people. Even very young ones.
