Except of course, from what I’ve gathered, the issue that such AI content generators are trained on and draw from (in an unacknowledged and unpaid manner) the work of previous creative laborers.
As with other modes of capitalist consumption, I guess we’re not supposed to think beneath the shiny surfaces about what actually went into producing the shiny new things.

Absolutely; I didn’t mean to imply that just because Midjourney ‘solves’ a problem for the BBS, that said “resolution” is not problematic itself.
From a business standpoint, it makes sense; because it’s several additional layers of insulation from litigation - but that doesn’t make it even remotely ethical.
You seem rather emotionally invested in this subject…
