Sure, a federal police force would have its own problems and may even be worse.
But it’s astounding how little oversight the cops have, and that’s a desperately bad problem. When the only people who can hold you accountable are also the same people who are your buddies, and everyone has everything to lose and nothing to gain from accountability, then there’s a ripe environment for abuse.
We need police accountability. Police unions aren’t right. Policing isn’t labor. They don’t need a union.
