My Tasha chomped on my cellphone as I was holding it. She then chomped down on my finger.

“Other cat” looks like a tabby in the picture, but she’s a torbie. Look at her belly and paws and the tortoise shell coloring is obvious. Also when she’s in crazy cat mode, all of a sudden red patches appear in her coat - strangest thing. Torbies and calicos have a reputation of being kinda nutty, and this one lives up to that stereotype. Sweet as can be, but high maintenance, into everything and why we can’t have nice things. Love her to death though.

I have a quick question for the women, if you please.

I ran into the Humane Society aide the other day, who helped facilitate the adoption of my cats. We talked a bit about the cats, and she says, "I’m _____, remember?"
I didn’t get her name wrong, so it wasn’t like "My name’s not Abigail, doofus!"
Is this something I should take note of? Do I have her interest, or am I reading too much into this?

That’s what I was thinking, but I didn’t want to presume…

After she enquired about the cats, I asked how she was doing. She said something to the effect of being tired, and trying to make enough pay - but I was gushing a little about how nice it must be to work somewhere one knows one is making a difference, and it’s hopefully not soul-sucking.
I don’t know. It’s people like this - the “good eggs” - that attract me the most, so I’m worried I might be projecting.

You could always keep the lines of communication open with her, see where it goes. I mean, don’t make assumptions, but if you have an interest, you should talk to her a bit more. If that goes well, you can always ask her out. It’s clear you both have an interest in the welfare of critter kind.

That I can do (lines of communication). She gave me her work email at the time of adoption in case I wanted to update them on the cats’ welfare, or if I had any questions.
I might send her a photo of the painting I made of Ruby, and see what happens.

Thanks. We are super excited about her, and I hope to prove up to the task of training her. At this age, she is a missile with teeth. It would be good to train her to be a rescue dog, since I don’t hunt much at all. Our other dogs have been Brittanies as well, but all trained for hunting or herding.
But any way, we have been on a bunch of wait lists for puppies, and finally got the call.
