I wouldn’t go that far but as someone who grew up on a farm (without horses) it is surprising. I don’t recall our other hooved animals, goats, sheep and pigs, having this, but maybe I just didn’t notice. Looked online briefly, but, in that short search, couldn’t definitively determine if this is limited to horses or not.
