There are known cases of, for example, Jews who disguised themselves as Nazis to avoid detection; millions of people feared for their lives, and Nazi armbands could help protect them from persecution by “passing.”
Whereas, excepting rare ironic usage, only people who believe in “MAGA,” a fundamentally racist, authoritarian movement, have reason to wear the hats.
