Quiet Skies: Air Marshals are following thousands of random Americans through airports and on planes, for no articulatable purpose

Now I’m imagining what I must have looked like to a dedicated observer last time I spent a significant amount of time in an airport…

  • Wandering around the same column three times.
  • Doing ad-hoc Tai-chi-like stretches in front of the viewing window.
  • Intently tracing the outline of concourse examining the skirting board. (Looking for an electrical outlet)
  • Examining self for rashes.
  • Entering and leaving the same shop several times by different routes.
  • Going to the bathroom and coming out wearing different clothes! And shaven!
  • Wearing a hat. Throwing hat in the air to see if I could touch the roof.
  • Counting the tiles in the ceiling. (Or more precisely, counting the tiles on the sides and then making calculations…)
  • Switching SIM cards in and out, several times
  • Counting security cameras. Mugging for them.
  • I often board last.
  • etc

that was your mistake, no serious terrorist would do that.
