I don’t want to take away from your point, but it is worth noting that Hawking wasn’t in a wheelchair in his college days:

I was in a wheelchair when I started college. This is just another bullshit ridiculous thing he’s proposing. This proposal would pretty clearly run afoul of the ADA.
