The “with adolescent-age individuals” component came from the charges filed against him in Prague, and only serves to distinguish between teenagers and small children. A lot of his willingness to actually plead guilty here is to avoid being extradited to face courts there. Locally (I’m from North Dakota) many are just blowing this off (pun… up to the discretion of the reader) as a “who cares if he went that far for a happy ending”. It’s a deep red state and some things are only considered a hanging offense if the perpetrator votes blue.
Edit: Note the “happy ending” remark is that earlier local reports stated that at least some of the acts involved massage parlors. Local media, today, reports that he did not think he was doing anything illegal because, in the Czech Republic, the age of consent is 15. But US federal law still makes it illegal for US citizens to travel for sex with anyone under 18.
