Wow. Thanks for that insight. So its actually worse than I thought. I had the idea that the patent office was staffed with science and engineering smarty-pants and they accept patents only because that’s how they fund their paychecks. Like, you know, the way Einstein worked at the patent office in Germany. Oh well.
And these new “trade” agreements, the TPP and TAFTA, want to expand patents to cover “surgical techniques” and other human motions, as well as extend the term of patents for many more years. What could go wrong?
