Scaramucci might not be the abject failure that we’re all making him out to be.
At least according to this interview on Charlie Rose last night, with Jonathan Swan, national political reporter for Axios, Scaramucci was brought on board to do one thing and one thing only: to get rid of Reince Priebus. At the 4m30s mark :
“Look, Scaramucci was brought in for a very specific purpose (smiling). Jared and Ivanka, uh, you know … and again, this is not, uh, wishful sort of retrospective reporting… they brought him in to destroy Reince Priebus and, uh, he… he did that. I don’t think they imagined it would be as, uh, spectacularly controversial as it was, but, uh, he’s a very divisive figure, he’s a very divisive figure in the White House.”
