You reminded me about a story my parents told me about Dinah Washington. Apparently, she was performing at a club when someone at the bar rang up a bill on the cash register. So, she walked out. They said she came back later, but they didn’t want to know what happened to the bartender. When I worked in Atlantic City, employees at the casino where Diana Ross performed complained a lot about the rules they had to follow when she performed there.
