I look at the historical data (including Cleopatra, Catherine the Great, Elizabeth the 1st, Indira Gandhi, Margaret Thatcher etc.) and I can’t tell if men are actually more dangerous in positions of power or if the data shows those with power over others are inclined to use/abuse it and women are just so often denied positions of power.
Whatever the situation is and despite all my reservations about hegemonic power structures I’m still game to see what the world would look like if we gave a rotating lottery-based council of ordinary grandmothers a go at running the show!
