State Department inspector general Steve Linick fired on a Friday night, weird, wonder why?

Tonight the State Dept’s Inspector General was ousted. A Democratic aide on Capitol Hill tells me that the OIG was looking into Secretary Pompeo’s misuse of a political appointee at the Department to perform personal tasks for himself and Mrs. Pompeo.

He would have loved to, but given the oversight role of IGs they are covered by laws requiring a specific process, so he had to do it.
