Very true, but in fairness many industries and groups tend to throw lots of awards ceremonies for themselves. I’ve been to a few, including more than one where my wife got a cool science award. (Once from the president! Doubtful that will happen again for any scientists any time soon). But the media hordes tend not to show up for those. Maybe actors just have more friends who operate cameras for a living?
