They don’t get “more weight,” they just have a bigger stage. Same way that when topless pictures of Jennifer Lawrence get leaked they get more attention than topless pictures of your Applebee’s waitress.
It’s funny that the people who complain about celebrities voicing political opinions because they’re “just actors” don’t seem to have a problem with it as long as the celebrity’s opinion matches their own. They don’t ever complain about Ted Nugent’s lack of qualifications. Or fake plumbers.
