I believe the first step is for Americans to finally disabuse themselves of the notion that the U.S. is a Democracy. The military industrial mediasphere perpetuates the notion that we get to vote and therefore we are free. Studies like this one show that to be 100% false.
Losing our illusions can be painful. Detached irony like that seen on this comment thread is a way of acting wise while ignoring the consequences of our knowledge. True understanding requires us to put ourselves on the line, be courageous and TAKE ACTION to reclaim our own government.
