Subreddit mocks cultural gatekeepers

All I know is do not talk about the Jews for Jesus with a rabbi. They will blow their tops.

We had one of those fine folks as a member of my penecostal church when I was a teen; lovely lady, odd religious perspective.

You have to keep an eye on those snipers.

I’m glad you’ve enjoyed what you’ve seen, will definitely have to seek it out

This is pretty much my point to a previous post on here. I do think it’s good to be mindful where past ideas and concepts come from, but an idea is free and inherently wants to be spread (think memetics). Trying to keep things unique to a group is understandable, but it is inevitable that ideas will spread, co-mingle, and push forward new ideas.

When I stumbled across /r/gatekeeping awhile back and read what it was about the first thing I thought of was Boing Boing.

Tying this all together (in a way) I discovered an absolutely fantastic subreddit the other day: MS Paint Like Bob Ross

Oh shit man, I thought I only needed to pay attention to the words on the Funkadelic albums. I didn’t know there was going to be a comprehensive test.

Might this have been predated by Sarmatism in Poland?

I am white so any opinion I have will be shouted down (Justly or not YMMV.)

GTFO. And no, not because you’re white, but because you’re whining about something that isn’t true.

Regarding the NFL team, it’s racist because it was historically employed by white Americans to talk about Native Americans.

Yep. You’d think that would be obvious!

(Tho I’d say something like"denigrate" instead of “talk about.”)

I don’t see any whining. I think he’s saying it’s okay to borrow from other cultures, just be respectful about it.

Gregory J. Markopoulos. Not a Native American:

Neither was Espera Oscar de Corti.

I don’t see any whining. I think he’s saying it’s okay to borrow from other cultures, just be respectful about it.

I’m referring to what he prefaced that with. You know, the part where he shared some cheap white whine with us.
